Caruso, Corelli, Di Stefano – Italian Opera Legends
Online from 2nd of August 2021
2021 is a very special year for all the opera fans. It is the centenary anniversary of Enrico Caruso’s death as well as Franco Corelli and Giuseppe Di Stefano’s birth, two of the most important tenors who use to sing at La Scala that have symbolically collected the legacy of the most popular tenor ever existed (the first to have sold more than a million records).
On August 2nd, exactly one century after Caruso’s death, the first La Scala digital exhibition will be launched online, entitled “Caruso, Corelli, Di Stefano – Italian Opera Legends”. The exhibition, curated by the music critic Mattia Palma, will be an imaginative journey realized by Punto Rec Studio, Multimedia Factory for culture, art and music, with a virtual set-up created inside the Theatre with videos, recordings, photos and even an “impossible” concert recreated on the la Scala stage and many other surprises to discover about these magnificent artists.
The exhibition is an initiative by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and will be shared all over the world thank to the Italian Cultural Institutes. The access to the exhibition will be totally free and available on Teatro Alla Scala official website (teatroallascala.org), Museo Teatrale alla Scala official website (museoscala.org) and MAECI official website (italiana.esteri.it).
